About Pressure Ulcers
KCI designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of products for the management of pressure ulcers. A pressure ulcer, or bed sore, is a localized injury to the skin and/or underlying tissue, usually over a bony prominence. It can result from pressure alone or in combination with shear or friction.
Our solutions are built on a deep understanding of wound healing, supported by a large body of clinical evidence.
Products described on this website (and associated product information), may not be available for sale in all markets as a result of local regulatory requirements. For information regarding product availability in your market, please contact your local Acelity/KCI representative here.
The Science Behind Our Products
Our solutions are built on deep scientific expertise, supported by a large body of clinical evidence.
Because each wound is different, Acelity offers a comprehensive range of solutions to address specific healing needs and care environments. Prevention and timely intervention can lessen the severity of pressure ulcers.
KCI provides a wide range of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy systems for hospital, community or home treatment. Since its launch in 1995, V.A.C.® Therapy has changed the way wounds are managed. Backed by more published clinical evidence than any other Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Systems, V.A.C.® Therapy has become the clinicians' treatment of choice for more than 10 million wounds worldwide.* V.A.C.® Therapy creates an environment that promotes wound healing through the application of negative (vacuum) pressure at the wound site. This helps draw wound edges together, remove infectious materials and promote granulation tissue formation.

Advanced Wound Dressings
Every wound is different. Thatis why KCI provides a comprehensive range of advanced wound dressings to help address each wound's specific needs. Our product portfolio is the result of over 80 years of experience developming innovative solutions to help you mange wounds towards healing.
A number of our advanced wound dressings such as SILVERCEL™ NON-ADHERENT Hydro-Alginate Antimicrobial Dressing with Silver with EASYLIFT™ Precision Film Technology and PROMOGRAN PRISMA™ Wound Balancing Matrix, offer antimicrobial benefits to help infected wounds, while our other advanced wound dressings such as ADAPTIC TOUCH™ Non-Adhering Silicone Dressing serve as a gentle silicone wound contact layer. TIELLE™ Hydropolymer Dressings with LIQUALOCK™ Advanced Absorption Technology offer moist wound healing which can be conducive to wound healing.
The TIELLE LIQUALOCK™ Dressings are designed not to leak and the foam expands and conforms to the contours of the wound bed, helping to avoid pooling of exudate, which may be helpful in the treatment of pressure ulcers with broken skin. The secure polyurethane adhesive border (on the adhesive variants) provides secure adhesion when needed to help avoid issues associated with leakage and soiling and allows skin-friendly dressing removal.
In a clinical study 84% of the patients reported that TIELLE™ Plus Dressing had improved their quality of life, this is due primarily to comfort and lack of leakage compared to previous treatments.1
